Supporting Neurodiverse Students
At Suncoast, we value and embrace the unique ways our students learn and experience the world. Neurodiversity reflects the natural variations in how people think, learn, and process information. Our commitment is to foster an inclusive environment where every student feels respected, understood, and empowered to thrive. We encourage families to work closely with their Education Specialist to personalize learning approaches and explore strategies that build confidence, resilience, and academic success.
What Is Neurodiversity?
Neurodiversity refers to the broad range of neurological differences among individuals. This includes students with autism, ADHD, dyslexia, and other learning or cognitive differences. We believe these variations enrich our school community and are deserving of understanding and support.
Learn More and Explore Support
To support our families and fulfill California Education Code requirements, we provide access to a range of tools and information that celebrate and assist neurodiverse learners. In accordance with California Senate Bill 939, Suncoast shares resources from the University of California and California State University Collaborative for Neurodiversity and Learning. This resource hub includes guidance and strategies for supporting students with dyslexia, research-based supports for students with ADHD and executive function differences, and inclusive instructional practices for both home and school environments. Families can also find helpful information through the Neurodiversity Hub and the Autism Speaks website for further learning and support.
We are proud to support every learner through celebrating their individuality and encouraging their curiosity. We’re always learning alongside them.
